About Aaron

Education and Honors

Aaron earned his bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Brigham Young University and his juris doctor from the University of Kansas (2007). While in law school Aaron served on the KU Law Moot Court Board, Inns of Court, and participated in the Duberstein Moot Competition.

Aaron has been recognized on multiple occasions by SuperLawyers as a Rising Star in the Rocky Mountain States region for his practice in business law. Aaron has published numerous articles in legal publications relating to business law issues, including the University of Kansas Law Review.

Legal/Work Experience

During law school, Aaron worked for the City of Lawrence’s Legal Department as well as the prestigious Barber Emerson law firm. Prior to founding Johnstun Law, he worked at highly respected law firms on complex business transactional and business litigation matters.

Aaron’s vast legal experience between government legal departments and private practice provides him with unique perspectives that small businesses often must navigate. His focus now is helping small businesses and entrepreneurs win.

Aaron is active in the Utah Bar, Central Utah Bar Association, Litigation Section, Securities, Corporate Counsel Section, and admitted to practice before the Utah Supreme Court, U.S. District Court for the State of Utah, and U.S. Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Personal Interests

Outside work, Aaron enjoys spending time with his family. He enjoys sports and outdoor activities. Among his favorites is coaching youth basketball. Other interests when time permits include fly-fishing, hiking, and hunting. One of Aaron’s greatest personal interests is serving as outside legal counsel pro bono to a Utah based non-profit, Warriors Afield Legacy Foundation.
